America. You couldn't make this up.

In a surprise announcement, Stewart -- convicted in March and later sentenced to five months in jail and five months of house arrest -- said through tears she hoped to be a free woman by March, so she can plant her spring garden.

Oh my Goodness! I can't believe it! What about Thanksgiving & Christmas with her family? This is truly a difficult decision for her. Why not go from after July 4th to Thanksgiving? There's nothing going on there. I mean, a garden is way to fragile in the Spring, so i can see why she wants to be there.

Please don't tell me this will delay her Spring line coming out at KMart! I can't even believe they would send a woman like her to prison....

Exactly. What does it say to her family that making sure her garden is planted is a higher priority than seeing them at the holidays? She can't get one of her underlings to plant it for her? Did she even do the physical planting to begin with?

I can only hope that Martha's time away helps rejuvenate her thought process to use orange and prison blue more as accents in her decorating. Maybe some tips on hiding contraband, too.
